DRIVER COACHING
AWAY from the track when TOM’S Formula 3 racer Richard Bradley is not racing, he spends his time providing driver coaching to aspiring race karters.
A renowned British kart racing champion, Richard has competed at Super KF1 (Karting Formula 1) – the highest level of go-karting.
Helping the motorsports community with his expertise and experience, the Michael Schumacher fan is focused on teaching kart enthusiasts the correct and proper techniques of karting, as well as other aspects such as mental and psychological.
“I realise a lot of people pick up their techniques from the Internet. It’s a world of information out there but some of the things that can be found online severely lack credibility and accuracy. It’s appalling how some people use the most outrageous methods,” says Richard.
Last June, Richard made a comeback in kart racing at the opening round of the Asian Open Karting Championship (AKOC). He last competed in in karts November 2009 at the WSK International Series (Super KF category).
Still, that did not stop him from clinching pole position before going on to win all three heats, the pre-final as well as the final in the Formula 125 Senior class of AKOC.
Currently, drivers coached by Richard include the karters from former Formula One driver Alex Yoong’s karting team Axle BHPetrol Racing: Daim Hishammudin, a leading cadet karter in the region.
Richard is also a guest instructor at Kartright Academy, an initiative by Singapore’s only public go-kart facility.
